About the Opportunity: Growing pharmaceutical company HQ in Raleigh, NC Flexible work scheudle New position to the team This role will focus on reporting and technical accounting Candidates must be local or willing to commute to Raleigh, NC Responsibilities: Technical Accounting Guidance: Provide expertise and guidance on the application of accounting standards, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other regulatory requirements. Interpret and analyze complex accounting issues and transactions to ensure compliance and consistency. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with internal and external auditors during the audit process. Policy Development and Documentation: Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization. Technical Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on accounting issues and trends to identify potential impacts on the organization. Evaluate the financial implications of proposed transactions, contracts, and business activities. Prepare technical memos and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management. Financial Controls and Compliance: Review and assess internal controls related to financial reporting processes. Identify areas for improvement and implement controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and other regulatory frameworks. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, operations, and external advisors, to address accounting-related matters and support business initiatives. Provide technical support and guidance to finance and accounting staff as needed. Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and efficiencies in accounting and financial reporting processes. Implement best practices and automation solutions to streamline Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA preferred Experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting, with a focus on technical accounting matters. Thorough understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting standards and regulations.
