Client Summary: Founded in 1884, our client is an academic medical center whose Centers of Excellence include cardiovascular care from minimally invasive heart surgery to transplantation, cancer care, stroke care, neuroscience, orthopedics and women's and children's care. Summary of Need: Working with children and asking questions about their health for diagnosis and documenting patients' symptoms and medical history for the doctor. Assessing a child's needs and providing initial care. Identifying changes in children's symptoms and intervening in emergency situations. Participating in pain management for children. Administering medications, drawing blood, and giving childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines. Monitoring temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure and keeping accurate records. Evaluating children for signs and symptoms of abuse. Providing supportive care to dying children. Dealing with the anxieties and demands of parents, and helping families to deal with their child's illness or injury. Remaining up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures. Additional Remarks: Auto Offer... Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Ratios: 1:1-2; 1:3 for intermediate care... 1.5 years experience req... First-timers accepted... Every other weekend and holiday... ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; NIH preferred... Will float to adolescents, pediatrics, PHOC, NICU... Locals accepted... Required Skills: EPIC, CVP, hemodynamic monitoring, interpret/manage EKG, PEWs, insulin administration/pumps, place/manager NGs, IV (ports/a-lines/central lines/PICCs), procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, EVD, VP shunt, ICP monitoring, HFNC, ETT, vents/trachs, renal failure, CRRT, peritoneal dialysis, wound care, trauma; ECMO preferred...
