Client Summary: Founded in 1884, our client is an academic medical center whose Centers of Excellence include cardiovascular care from minimally invasive heart surgery to transplantation, cancer care, stroke care, neuroscience, orthopedics and women's and children's care. Summary of Need: Studying patients' charts, medication regimens, and test results upon admittance to the progressive care unit. Tracking routine vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements. Interpreting measurements from specialized medical equipment. Monitoring and administering prescribed medication, as well as performing titration of drug doses. Performing diagnostic assessments on changes in measurements, as well as designated interventions. Reporting deteriorating conditions to healthcare specialists and following intervention instructions. Updating and maintaining ward charts, patient files, and medical records. Overseeing Progressive Care Unit nursing assistants and support staff. Explaining treatments and procedures to patients and their families, as well as answering questions. Additional Remarks: Auto Offer... Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) 8-13 weeks (specify with submittal)... RTO must be submitted with submittal... Block scheduling/special accommodations cannot be granted... Will float within skillset when not needed in home unit... RN must have 2+ years experience... BLS and ACLS required... Patient Mix experience: Med surg telemetry. 4 bed IMC, EP/cardiac cath and medical cardiac patients. No titrating drips. RN's must be able to read and interp own Tele. IMC: continuous pulse ox, hi-flow NC, insulin gtt, q 2 hour vitals, q 2 hour neuro checks or q 2 hour vascular checks or q 1-2 hr blood sugar checks... Charting System: EPIC...
