Reports to Facilities Manager

Summary

We have an immediate opening for a Plant Engineer

The Plant Engineer is responsible for managing the technical aspects of the chemical plant, including troubleshooting, process control, and process improvement. He is responsible to create and maintain a stable, and reliable manufacturing process. The Plant Engineer is involved in the design of the next phase of The Plant, utilizing knowledge gained from the pilot plant to recommending appropriate unit operations.

Duties and responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Builds and maintains the knowledge needed to be resident expert on equipment and manufacturing

Reviews, updates and manages Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that work is done safely and efficiently. Collaborates with and seeks input from operators and staff to develop SOP's.

Coordinates with the HSE Manager on HAZOP reviews and other PSM needed to ensure the safety and health of employees. Participates in incident reviews, root cause, analyses and corrective actions.

Recommends improvements or redesigns for equipment and processes to meet safety, quality, production and costs goals. Creates PFDs and P&lDs. Interacts with R&D team to identify development activities necessary to improve manufacturing processes. Supports design activities with business cases including analysis.

Qualifications

6+ years preferred with a mechanical engineering degree and background

AUTOCAD design experience

Experience in leading a team

Work Conditions

24/7 availability may be required.

Physical ability to lift up to 501b.

Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

Overtime as required.

Hazards associated with the trade.

Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time
