MQ-9 PILOT SME

Provide curriculum review, assessment, recommendations, corrections and updates to improve Marine Corps MQ-9 training program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Bachelor's degree required.

Training and Experience: United States Air Force (USAF) MQ-9 Pilot Initial Qualification Training course (IQT), USMC MQ-9 Pilot Training Course at VMUT-2, or industry equivalent MQ-9 Pilot Training Course (General Atomics-ASI, L3-Harris, Albers, etc.). Minimum 300 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in MQ-9 aircraft; with instructor designation, or 600 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in a USMC UAS; with no less than 200 hours of instructor time. Extensive knowledge of MQ-9 operational performance capabilities.

General Skills: Must possess good interpersonal and written communication skills, prioritize and meet deadlines, and be multi-task oriented. Ability to work with limited supervision. Ideally, candidate will be familiar with instructional design concepts and be able to effectively participate in a team setting to support the revision and maintenance of training courseware. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, a self-starter, flexible in work assignments, detail oriented, and highly organized.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Security Clearance: Must obtain/maintain a "Secret" level security clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Review curriculum, assess and recommend improvements to the training program.
  • Attend required meetings/training.
  • Update, modify, and maintain the currency of curriculum to support platform specific training.
  • Assess training, syllabus, and mission scenarios to ensure courseware and training documents reflect current tactics, techniques, and procedures as defined in the NTTP, Joint Doctrine, and Marine Corps War-Fighting Publications and are the most effective means of execution.
  • Provide analysis of existing testing instruments and recommend changes to improve training baseline and measure the proficiency of training objectives.
  • Review syllabi and recommend changes to the lessons based on NATOPS changes, engineering changes, tactics, and evolving mission area changes.
  • Revise and maintain instructor guides in support of the MQ-9 training.
  • Maintain a high level of competence, subject knowledge, and expertise with MQ-9 system, capabilities, and operations.
  • Revise and maintain simulator scenarios. This includes updating the orders of battle, flight paths, enemy and friendly reactions, threat platforms, timelines, and Integrated Air Defense Systems.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
